Sports Photography (Past and Present)

I’ve been a sports photographer for twenty years.  For fifteen of them, I worked regularly for The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Time Magazine, Golf Digest, Golf World, and more.  I’ve shot just about every sport you can think of.

For me, sports is about more than peak action.  It’s about the moments between the competition, the feeling of being a top athlete or rising amateur.  My style in sports, as in travel, food and lifestyle photography, is clean, graphic, modern.

I’ve taken that instinct for capturing the human body in motion, and in times of contemplation, and applied it to environmental services photography, and to travel and tourism photography. The demanding hours of sports photography, and the physical challenges of lugging all that equipment through days-long golf tournaments, of keeping up with running backs on the sidelines,  have trained me for the work I do in the environmental field.
